In celebrating Penang’s water heritage, PHT is organizing a series of site visits to important water infrastructures on the island, and the mainland, to build better awareness and appreciation of these historic structures. Our first visit will be to the Guillemard Reservoir, a unique double-pond reservoir located along the Vale of Tempe, constructed in 1929 to provide water supply to new areas of Tanjung Tokong and Tanjung Bungah.
Details of the site visit can be seen below.
Note: As Guillemard Reservoir is a restricted area, prior registration is necessary. Walk-ins will not be permitted to participate in the site visit.
