In celebrating Penang’s water heritage, PHT is organizing a series of site visits to important water infrastructures on the island, and the mainland, to build better awareness and appreciation of these historic structures. In the second part of this series, we will be taking a visit to the Ayer Itam Reservoir, at the foothills of Penang Hill. This reservoir was completed in the early 1900s and was easily accessible to the public until the 1960s. It served the Ayer Itam community and lends its name to the nearby Reservoir Gardens.

Details of the site visit can be seen below.

Note: As Ayer Itam Reservoir is a restricted area, prior registration is necessary. Walk-ins will not be permitted to participate in the site visit.
