Speakers :

Rexy Prakash Chacko is an Electronic Engineer by profession and a nature lover by passion. A born and bred Penangite, he is a member of the Penang Forum and helped launch the Penang Hills Watch, the Forum’s very first citizen’s oriented initiative aimed at roping the public to safeguard the hills. In 2017, he helmed a 7 month long research on Pulau Jerejak, which culminated in a very successful public forum on the future of Pulau Jerejak in March 2018. He is also a regular public speaker speaking on topics of the environment, a blogger as well as a freelance writer. He hopes to see more people rising up to safeguard our environment and heritage.

Khoo Salma is cultural urbanist and an advocate for the protection of the George Town World Heritage Site and the biocultural heritage of Penang. She was formerly president and now vice-president of Penang Heritage Trust. She is co-founder of the publishing company Areca Books and an author of more than a dozen books. She is a Fellow under the Nippon Foundation’s Public Intellectual Fellowship Programme.
