PHT-PAPA programme is back, and this time we are joined by Chef Francis H’ng who will teach us the skills of making ang ku, a traditional Chinese pastry. Many significant Chinese celebrations involve the ang ku – or red tortoise bun. The birth of a child, where the presented ang ku differs in shape to indicate to the recipient whether the newborn is male or female. For new year and for wedding prayers, the ang ku is required. To ensure that the tradition is not lost PAPA will teach you how to make this delicious steamed ‘bun’. Come and learn with us.
